Great arm for demonstrating

Only took about 20 mins to set up. Seems to be made very well and very excited about learning to program this to do other things other than the included programs.

Excellent Robotic Arm

With variety of sensors in package, it can perform many interesting games. Robot is assembled, so what should i do just install sensors on robot. You can easily set up with the software and boot up robot. This is a pretty good product and can recommend if you want to get started on robotics.

I love learning MicroPython and ESP32 programming the MaxArm recommended for engineering students

I am reviewing my HiWonder open source MaxArm robot arm that can be programmed in Arduino C or MicroPython with tons of examples and you get to learn about kinematics. Is also remote controlled via Bluetooth on a phone app, PS2 style controller, regular mouse and PC Software control via USB connection. Also has a penumatic suction endeffector for pick and place style applications. Is 4 DOF. If you are studyin mechatronics or robotics or mechanics this is the arm to get. You get to study the algorithms for robot arm control. Is a lot of fun, but it takes a while to go thru all of the awesome experiments!

Satisfied

First saw MaxArm video, i was obssessed with its outlook, very delicated. Most inportantly, the price is very nice for me. I am a beginner, so i though that maight be what i want. Try to program with Python to realize some simple projects, that's not that difficult because I can get all tutorials, videos and source code. It is very helpful for me to learn Python. Recommend it to all beginners for robot.

  • Hi, I can change the suction nozzle for a claw, is there an example of how to use the claw? Thanks.

The end effector can be replaced, but MaxArm does not offer specific examples for doing so, meaning you will need to explore and handle the process yourself.

  • I want to test for ocr detection and object detection, will it fully help me or not. if i take Starter kit, will there be available for camera setup in board. so please guide I want to mpurchase it.

Hi there, it's mainly used for programming and robot learning, but you can have a try.

  • Do you have a tutorial on how to build a simulator for this version of the robot ARM. I see the jetArm has the virtual simulator. It would be good exercise for the student and customers that have this arrm.

    Hi there,

MaxArm is a robot arm for beginners, so it does not use ROS. However, because it is not based on ROS, the simulator be synchronized with the real object in real time. JetArm will be perfect if you want to build a simulator.

    Many Thanks,
    Hiwonder

  • Does the MaxArm have a simulator? I came across this Robot Arm call JetArm. I initially thought the JetArm might be an extension of the MaxArm. The JetArm has a Unified Robot Description Format (URDF) simulator, I started thinking does the MaxArm has a virtual Simulator that may have been created. You can see the simulator for the JetArm at 1:24 in this video. It looks somewhat similar to the MaxArm. Again,Is there a virtual simulator available for the MaxArm? Here’s the link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDDF6Tyi4U0 .

Currently, MaxArm doesn't have a virtual simulator

  • my robot is not stable; the suction air pump sometimes doesn't work, please show me how to fix or change the air pump if any

Please send your request to support@hiwonder with a video, and our technical support team will provide support

  • Can it be operated by an external signal via a digital I/O ? . such as a push button.

Yes, it supports offline running through a push button

  • How much is it for the MaxArm charger? I misplaced mine and I just got it a few weeks ago.

    Please check this link: https://www.hiwonder.com/products/power-supply-adapter-12v-5a?_pos=2&_sid=0204aeae2&_ss=r

  • Is there any PC software for mac for the MaxArm. If not can you please make one because I just ordered a arm and now I'm not sure if it will even work with my macbook

Sorry, the PC software for mac is not available yet
