It worked well so far. I can drag the visual interface of robotic arm through app to control it directly, which makes the interaction with the robot easier than i expected. I can use it to experience different intelligent vision games and can also create more fun. Its powerful servo can pick up some bottles so sometimes I will show it off to my family.
My children were at first skeptical that an arm robot can be something else than boring. But then they saw this blue shining brackets that gives the robot pretty noble look. Finally the kids have a lot of fun playing with it- they drag the cubes away and let the robot follow them or to use the app to grab different toys.
For me as a hobbyist and robot maker is very interesting to figure out, how the whole system works. This robot is perfect for educational purposes since it is completely open source in python and OpenCV on Raspberry PI 4. With the robot you also receive a memory stick with a lot of documentation in English, well structured in folders with tutorials and videos. Even if you mess up everything, you can apply the provided sdcard image and start everything from beginning. The movements of the robot are based on forward and inverse kinematics in python code which makes it easy to learn. For me this robot is much more valuable than to read long theoretical articles.
Although there is some time difference between China and the Germany, Hiwonder support always reply to me in time.
Nice rpi robotic arm for my school project! If you want to get into robots this is the kit to do it with. You can build many different robots and program them to do many things.
