Well built but very poor documentation

The 4 channel encoder is well built and works reliably. However there is little to no documentation for it other than what you can learn from the example code. This makes it very hard to use. For example there is no documentation of the i2c commands that are allowed to be used and only 2-3 are shown in the code. So no idea about how to reset encoder results to zero or what specific motortype or polarity values mean and their effect on operation. A function call document listing input and output values would make this board immensely useful.
